Introduction
------------------------

Thank you for downloading the sapphire tempate for Textpattern, originally developed for the textplates.com contest, February 2006.

Version
------------------------

You are using version 1.0 of the sapphire template. Please refer to www.kevinpotts.com/sapphire to see if there has been an update.

Contents of This Archive
------------------------

This .zip archive contains several folders. You should have the following directories:

- CSS
- Images
- TXP_pages
- TXP_forms

CSS
------------------------

There are two CSS files: sapphire.css (for screen and projection use) and sapphireprint.css (the print stylesheet). These are both placed in the root directory of your site, in the same directory as index.php. If using the template as is, you should not have to edit these files.

If you decide to move these files to a "CSS" directory, please change the paths to the images accordingly. These stylesheets are linked to TXP via a form called "meta," so please make sure to change the path there as well if moving them to a subdirectory.

Images
------------------------

There is a directory with seven images. These are all referenced from the CSS file. The "images" directory goes in the root of the installation on the same level as index.php.

TXP_pages
------------------------

There are two .txt files:

- sapphire_txp_page_default.txt
- sapphire_txp_page_archive.txt

The default installation of Textpattern generates the "default" and "archive" pages automatically; simply replace the content wholesale with the content of these text files. It won't look like much, but most of the code has been moved into forms for easier maintenance.

TXP_forms
------------------------

This directory contains a number of .txt files, each representing a form. The name of the text file denotes both the name of the form AND the type of form. Take the following .txt file:

sapphire_txp_form___search_constant___[article].txt

This form would be called "search_constant" (with the underscore) and would have a form type of "article."

Some forms will replace the ones in Textpattern's default installation, others must be created. To create a new form, simply click "create a new form" in the upper right coner of the "Forms" tab, copy the contents of the text file to the large field, name the form correctly and choose the correct type from the dropdown menu. Click "save" and you're done.

Sections and Categories
------------------------

The sapphire template does not modify the sections or category names from the default Textpattern installation. This is left to the discretion of the admin.

Plugins
------------------------

The sapphire template does not require any plugins.

Admin Changes
------------------------

There are only a few. This assumes you are using TXP 4.0.3 or later. The following changes are the only ones required for the template to work correctly; other settings can be changed at the admin's discretion, as they mostly involve display semantics (for instance, date format).

Under "Site Preferences - Comments" in the Admin panel:

	1. On by default - YES
	2. Present comments as a numbered list? - NO
	3. Comments mode - NO POPUP
	4. Automatically append comments to articles - NO
